Having arrived illegally in Spain, young Senegalese immigrant Bilal is pursued by the police. He manages to escape and hides out in an Andalusian manor house set in an immense garden. The runaway is discovered first by Carmina, the capricious and unpredictable lady of the house, then by the maid, Lupe. Neither woman reveals her discovery to the other. But what first appeared as a refuge quickly becomes Bilal’s prison, and a dangerous game ensues…
This is the first time Fin de Fiesta will be screened in the Netherlands and the film will have a short pre-recorded intro by director Elena Manrique. She has worked as a producer on films including Pan’s Labyrinth (2006), The Orphanage (2007), and Blue is the Warmest Colour (2013). She’s also directed several short films. Fin de Fiesta (2024) is her directorial feature debut.
